The project lies within the Grampian Gold Belt, a region of Dalradian rocks which host several significant mineral occurrences and deposits of high-grade gold, base metals and baryte across Northern Ireland and Scotland. Grampian gold deposits include the Curraghinalt deposit in Northern Ireland (6.09 Moz at 13.6g/t Au) and the Cononish deposit in Scotland (266 KOz at 13.4 g/t Au).

The Green Glen Minerals team has discovered a large area of mineralisation at the Lead Trial Prospect with evidence of several strike kilometres of veins and altered faults within the area including large-mineralised quartz vein boulders. Mapping, geophysics and geochemistry has identified the likely source structures for the vein float. The Company now believes the prospect has the potential to host an economic resource equivalent to Cononish. Work is ongoing to advance the prospect and an initial scout drilling program was completed in April 2021 which confirmed proof of concept with mineralised veins intersected in core including best result of 1.65m grading 4.44g/t Au in hole EGR-002. Current work is focussed on updating long term legal agreements with landowners who own mineral rights. On completion, this would allow Green Glen Minerals the right to explore and mine the minerals within the relevant lands. While other exploration targets have been identified in the region, these are not likely to be pursued due to difficulties securing mineral rights with private landowners who control access and mineral rights.
